Genital Warts Symptoms and Treatments

They are caused by a virus, some strains of which are known to increase the risk of cervical cancer. Men can carry the virus without developing warts. An annual smear is a wise precaution for all partners of known carriers.

Cures

Naturopathy

A whole food diet with plenty of antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables and their juices to boost the immune defense system is recommended. Fresh air and exercise boost the immunity by maximizing the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood and releasing endorphins (mood-lifting hormones). Warts are especially susceptible to charming, so relaxation exercises and meditation are recommended for genital warts.

Vitamins and Minerals

The usual recommendations of antioxidant-rich fruit and vegetables will be given, to provide beta-carotene (vitamin A), B-complex vitamins, vitamin C with bioflavonoids, vitamin D and E, and the minerals selenium, zinc, calcium and magnesium. Vitamin E oil painted regularly onto the warts may hasten their disappearance. Supplements include additional forms of all of the above.

Herbal Medicine

Extracts of the Chinese herb astragalus increase white blood cell and interferon activity, and are available over the counter and on a practitioner's prescription as potent immune stimulators. Extracts of Echinacea act similarly, and boost antibody formation against viral and bacterial activity. Fresh garlic also potentiates immune defenses, and can be eaten daily, and/or the juice from freshly crushed garlic cloves applied at least twice daily to the warts.

Aromatherapy

The essential oils of both laurel (Laurus nobilis) and gaiac (from the Lignum vitae, or tree of life are recognized for their specific antiviral properties. Both are best used under the guidance of a qualified practitioner (especially gaiac), but a few drops of laurel essence can be safely added to an oil burner and inhaled; or to a small quantity of warm water, and used to bathe the affected area. You can also dab the warts with essential oil of lemon.

Homeopathy

For vulva warts, take 4 times daily for up to 3 weeks: Thuja 6c for fleshy warts; Sabina 6c for warts of the vulva that smart and itch; and Medorrhinum 6c for itchy warts in a woman prone to catarrh and shakiness. For penile warts, take 4 times daily for up to 14 days: Thuja 6c is the remedy of first resort, but if there is no improvement, and the foreskin is swollen and the warts bleed, try Cinnabar 6c. For warts accompanied by erectile difficulties or increased desire plus premature ejaculation, try Lycopodium 6c.

Medical Treatment

Specific proprietary topical applications may be prescribed and can be used safely. Remember, however, not to place the compound on the surrounding healthy skin. Surgical intervention may be required if warts are disfiguring or spreading. Diathermy (burning), liquid-nitrogen application (freezing) and, very rarely, surgical excision may be required. The doctor will also give advice on having regular smears and checkups if you find that you or your partner is carrying the wart virus.

Prevention

  • Use condoms.
  • Avoid sex at any time if the perineal or genital area is red-raw and sore.
  • Boost your immune system to increase resistance to infection.

Caution

  • Seek medical advice for any unexplained growth or swelling around the genitals.
  • Don't assume because your partner is wart-free that he or she does not carry the infection.
  • Have an annual cervical smear or vaginal examination if your partner carries the wart virus.

Ok so there are about a billion different treatments out there and every single sufferer has their own opinion on what works. Personally, I have had success with only 2 products, one being a prescription pill and one being this: http://www.billsmedicals.info/hpv

A combination of both got me cleared up in just under 2 weeks.

1.Buy this http://www.billsmedicals.info/hpv

2.Go see your GP

Good luck.

Great info!

I have genital warts, I don't know what to do with it. Whenever it hurts and itches, I put loose powder on it, hoping that it will lessen the hurt and itchiness. Two weeks ago, I bumped into some sites here in the internet, I read about Oxy-fend, now I am wondering if that really helps? Do you know Oxy-fend? It says it is a topical treatment, and great for genital warts? I want to try it out, does it sounds good? Please, I want a cure. :(

i'm not really familiar with oxyfend. what i know about is wartscide. it's a liquid-based treatment. you can order it online through their site and gives you results in as soon as 3 days. hope for the best!
